Yep. I'll back you up on this one. I consistently get my best shaves with Kiss My Face Lavender or Patchouli.

I have only used TOBS, so can't comment on the others. What I have tried of TOBS I have been happy with and would buy them again, so my answer is no.

    Er..................................

    No

    Of the "3Ts"

Taylors is definitely not overrated as it is half the price of Trumpers and T & H

All three offer luxurious lather but I will admit that that the latter two are sold at a premiuim price

Taylor's Lavender is a gift for mankind

No, I personally think they're worth all the positive reviews they receive. I think part of the problem is that the 3T's simply have more exposure than some other products, as they've been around long before this recent resurgence in the popularity of wetshaving. I think a lot of guys are "burnt out" on them, and the fact that the 3 T's are products that nearly everyone owns or at least has tried may have something to do with why other less-common products are often compared to them. Still, if you read through many of the threads here, I think you'll still get an accurate feel for where the 3 T's stand.

I think T&H is overrated, but Taylor's and Trumpers aren't.

I have trid all three (as well as many, many creams from other companies) and TOBS Avacado is still by far the best shave cream I have ever used, so my vote is no on this one as well.

I personally love the Trumper's Skin Food, though I'm definitely open to less-expensive alternatives. The T&H Luxury soap irritates my skin, and Trumper's Limes soap was pretty underwhelming. I do like TOBS creams, especially the Sandalwood.

I personally do not think that the three Ts are overrated, as they offer some of the best hard soaps and creams that money can buy. However, I wouldn't say they're the end-all/be-all. I personally think that the fourth T, Tabac, can really compete with the best of them and there are many others that are up there as well. After using QED Sandalwood and Tabac SS almost exclusively for a little while, my lathering technique has improved (and evolved) and now I get lather from QED soaps on par with the three Ts. Possibly better.

I don't have much experience with T&H, but their creams (Rose and Lavender) are excellent products that I believe are worth the price as I find that I need to use less cream to generate a good shave. I had trouble lathering with the Ultimate Comfort cream, but I almost think it was a bad sample. The pre-shave oil smells fantastic but doesn't do anything. The UC ASB is pretty good, but pricey. Taylor's offers an excellent value for a great product. The soaps and creams are top notch for very little investment. I have noticed some inconsistencies with the Trumper's creams, but most are top-shelf. The soaps however, particularly Rose, are phenomenal. Refills are value priced and a must try.

No, overall I do not feel that the three Ts are overrated.

The T's are good but if you compare them to some of the other Brits I think they could be considered overrated. IMO CF, D.R.H., Floris, Coates and Penhaligon's are all far Superior to the T's

well I can only speak about T&H. I do feel T&H is overrated. Ironically, the only reason I still use 1805 is because of the amazing scent and the fact that it's a classic. I know this may be a sin but I often cut 1805 with some bodyshop cream just because I love my face. So, long story short, T&H is overpriced but still a classic. They're expensive because ::drumroll:: ENOUGH PEOPLE PAY FOR IT

A Bic pen will write. A Cross pen will write and look ALOT better. A Mont Blanc will write, look alot better and make you feel better because you paid alot for it.

I agree, Floris soaps and creams are above and beyond, regardless of price.

I agree. Florena seems to shave just as well and is more moisturizing than most creams from the 3 T's. All that for under $4 a tube.

With a more expensive cream you pay extra for a custom scent and more attractive packaging. Having a tub of TOBS on the bathroom counter looks nicer than an ugly tube of Florena or Proraso.

IMHO, I can't say they're overrated. I think they consistently deliver what they promise (YMMV). Whether what they promise is worth the $$ is a different question.
