Classic brand super badger question

Does anyone else have one of these?

I had gotten one of the Classic Shaving house brand brushes a couple months ago, and it went into rotation (clearly pure badger, and it smelled like badger). All of a sudden, it started shedding like crazy. I emailed them some photos, and they sent out a "replacement" lickety split.

The thing is, the replacement doesn't seem like real badger. It really seems synthetic. I haven't used it yet, but it in no way resembles the other one when I bought it. The other one more closely resembles the AOS pure badger I got in a shaving kit for Xmas. It has no badger smell whatsoever.

I will be perfectly satisfied if someone tells me that I am a dope and don't know a badger brush from a toilet brush. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my words. BUT, if these are synthetic, I am not happy. I spent $50 on a badger brush I expected to last for YEARS, not months, and then getting a lower class replacement is not customer service. Especially when they have Rooney brushes for $10 more!

Tell me I'm wrong. Please!

Sorry I can't provide an answer for your replacement brush. But I encountered the same thing with my Classic Shaving Brand Super Badger brush. My brush started shedding around the 5-6 month mark and it keeps on going. I just ordered an Edwin Jagger Best Badger, to replace it. Thanks for the suggestions, i think I'll try corresponding with Classic Shaving to see if I could get a replacement.

I was thinking about buying a Classic Shaving Super Badger brush, but now I'm not sure. Are they any good? The other brush I'm considering is a Royal Shave PB4 best badger, and they both cost $50. What do you guys think?

My first brush was a Classic Shaving Super Badger brush. It was a very nice brush for three months. The autopsy was not pretty.

Natural hair burns with a very characteristic smell. Synthetic will not only burn, but also melt. So your shed hairs can be put to use. And if it proves to be synthetic, give them a piece of yoru mind. They had a chance to make things right with you, and blew it. If it was me, I would send you TWO badger brushes at this point, after screwing up twice with you already. Anyway if they don't make it right this time, PLEASE POST HERE so nobody else makes the mistake of buying that brush from that vendor again.
