How many of you use straights all or almost all the time and have been doing so for a year or more?
I got into both DE's and straights about 2 months ago. I concentrated on the straights and have gotten so it all works out pretty well except it always needs a little touch-up around the chin and upper lip areas.
I don't cut myself but get, as they say, little "weepers".
On the other hand I can get a pretty smooth all over shave in one pass with a DE. I think for me I'll consider shaving with a straight as just a hobby and just something I'll do every now and then to keep up the skill.
I enjoy shaving with a DE and kind of look at straight shaving as pointless in the sense that if it takes longer than 2 months to get a completely smooth shave...why bother? Shaving shouldn't be brain surgery Maybe there was a reason people moved on from straights to DE's.
Shaving with a straight is enjoyable and I don't intend to stop doing it entirely.
I guess my question is...are there really all that many people who shave with a straight every day and continue to do so for years (after the initial interest has worn off)?
