    Default Desert Island Fragrance Question.

    Folks,

So I'm pretty new to the boards, and have asked a few questions and this one is out of genuine curiosity. I'm a big fragrance guy, have been so seventh grade when I started out with Farenheit, Nautica, Polo Sport and Gray Flannel. In college I was into Dolce and Gabbana, Le Male, and Issey. Now in my 30's I like the good stuff. I mainly use Bond, Labo, Malle, Creed,Czech and Speake and some shaving Brands. I like Tabac, and some Truefit and Geo stuff. With samples included, I currently rotate about 100 different scents. The last bottle that I bought was Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb and I recently bought a package of 75 or so samples on here for $80. My question is, if you were trapped on a desert island, and were allowed to have one fragrances per season for the rest of your life (they repeat every year). What would they be?

    I'll set it off

Spring - Prada Infusion D'Homme (love the freshness and clean smell that this cologone exudes. Beautiful stuff and I am not big on their scents)

Summer - Czech and Speake Oxford and Cambridge (when I wear this I feel like an English gentleman taking a summer stroll in custom fitted Turnbull and Asser clothing)

Fall - Frederic Malle Vetiver Extrordinare (this is the only one that I didn't have to think about for more than a second. There's something very sexual and raw with this scent. Women love it)

Winter - Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale (if you just smell a sample of this like I did at Barney's you will most likely bypass it. But, if you give it time to grown on you, it will grow and grow fast. It screams winter to me, and even though there are ten or twenty ideal fragrances for this time of year, this one wins, because of the care and effort put into making this scent perfect)

I'm anxious to hear your opinions on the matter

    Max

You know, I've never tried the English Fern. It's that good huh?

Hmmmm I really don't think I could pare down my collection to four, but the ones that come to mind are (I'm sticking with frags in production):

    Autumn- Sycomore
    Winter- Egoiste
Spring- L'Ame d'un Heros (Ok, I don't have this, I have Coriolan, but like I said, it has to be in production, and they are the same to my nose)
Summer- Virgin Island Water (yes, it's finally displaced C&E WIL as my favourite summer scent)
The problem with Arsenal is that they always try to walk it in!

Can't do it. The only season I could potentially lock myself into one would be Summer because I tend to like heavier, richer scents which don't work for me in the heat.

    Summer: Creed Original Vetiver

It's one of my favourites. Seems to me it could work for any weather.

I'll pick 4, not really caring about seasons:

    Hilde Soliani Bel Antonio
    Acqua di Parma Colonia
    English Leather Lime
    Tommy
God loves you so much, that he made you read this, just to let you know.

Wow, some great selections here. I'm not big on limiting either, and "seasons" are a relative term here in SoCal...

    Spring - English Fern
    Summer- Original Vetiver
    Fall- X for Men
    Winter- Puredistance M

It's a desert so I am assuming a year-around warmer climate and a lighter fragrance is in order.
Its' also an island so seawater comes to mind.

    Spring: HEELEY Sel Marin
    Summer: HEELEY Sel Marin
    Fall: HEELEY Sel Marin

After typing and retyping again and again, I refuse to put just one fragrance for each season! Argh! Thinking about how much time I just wasted infuriates me!

Hm. If I imagine that I was trapped on some kind of tropical desert island...
There are only two seasons there, dry and wet.

I guess I'd go scentless in the wet season, and for the dry season I'd use some LV Uomo praying to God every day that they find me before I eat my last can of tuna fish.
