Flanel (Rain Forest)
by La Via del Profumo
violets, sandalwood, oakmoss
This is a fairly unique creation and a step outside the usual for Dubarana. The concoction is simple, only three notes, but they are always present, just some more than others at different times. At first, the violet shines but doesn't have that bright fresh smell of laundry detergent. Instead it's a robust and floral but green, and plasticky in the way tuberose can be. This dominates for a good while but slowly it quietens until the sandalwood is obvious and dominant. At first it was a surprise that the sandalwood was even there since it was so covered up by violets but the scent of true mysore sandalwood shines through. The oakmoss in this gives it an almost vetiver smell as well. The entire work is unusual and refreshing at the same time. Unfortunately sillage is mild and longevity is short. I'd consider a full bottle of this to spray my clothes with, though.
