Escher/Thuringian love. show of your rocks

A monkey stole my Escher:

I got a smaller replacement. At least lapping it was easier:

Sorry for digging up an old thread here, but just wanted to show my latest eBay purchase, a little boxed droescher. It cleaned up well (sorry no pics before lapping I was excited) and seems like a nice little stone. I was a bit worried it had been used with oil as there was some gunk on the surface of the stone but I washed it off with soap and lapped it and water isn't beading at all on top so I hope I'm ok there. The slurry stone isn't original, I cut it from a broken thuri I had.

David, that is awesome! I love the box. I need to start building some boxes for all of my stones.

Jeremy, thanks! I'd like to have boxes for my other stones as well. It looks relatively simple to make. I may give one a shot sometime soon.

Here are my current Thuris,

left one is light green, as the escher on top, yellowGreen/Blue combo, Darkblue with matching slurry stones.

greets Sebastian.

I never see any bout shaped thuringians except yours and one other very large collection. I assume you must live in Germany to find the odd cuts?

You`re right. I`am from Germany, i was in Sonneberg too, like some other guys, but they where faster than me.
I got that stones from the only real Thuri specialist here in germany, PM me for more info.

greets Sebastian.

Love the irregular shaped stones a lot. They're awesome.
A blue-green parallelogram would be a very nice thing to find. Great stuff.

I have somethin more to HAD :)
My latest addition to my collection:

a double layered Barbers Delight in a nearly mint condition with complete side and backlabel.
it also has a stamp "Gold Medal" with the Eschers Cup left and right...it cost 2 german reich marks in the past it is written on one side with blue ink
