Default Lather from cream - dunk or scoop method?

I would guess that this has been asked before, but, humor me. I use creams to shave with like Trumpers, Nancy Boy or TBS. How do most of you get the cream on the wet brush? I usually dunk the damp brush into the cream and swirl it around a few times, then make the lather in a large cup. Does anyone just take a small amount and put it into the cup directly? Is there an any advantage to doing it either way. BTW, my wife just bought me shaving cream from the Bath Shop and it is giving me great shaves.

    Thanks,

    Rick

I'm a fan of the dunk and swirl method; not just with brush and cream, cookies and coffee too.

I'd say it's really about what works best for you, but anyone's welcome to prove me wrong.

    Default Dunk and Swirl

I only thing that I wonder about is when I dunk the brush into the tub, a little bit of water is usually left behind. Any big deal?

that's the motto of the Shave Clinic!!

Guys get the cream out of the tub and into brushlather in just about any way imaginable. I use my finger to scoop some out and put in the latherbowl.

Of course, you could just use tubes instead of tubs and then your course is clear!!
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

I scoop an appropriate amount using the foot end of my toothbrush. I guess I have determined how much cream produces the right amount of lather for me. The toothbrush is just a convenient tool.

    Default Baby Spoon!!

    Great Question!

My Sister-in-Law left our new niece's baby spoon...a plastic travel one, after a visit. I took one look and thought, "That looks about the size of a 'schnoodle' of cream". I gave it a try and it works great. I threw that one in my travel bag. I dug around in my daughter's dish cabinet (she's 11, and we keep all her cups, bowls, and dishes in a lower cabinet that she can reach) and found a metal baby spoon that is now in my shaving drawer!

So a baby spoon works great...just the right size and no contamination of the creme!
