Found and rescued in wild - Old Spice Mug and Unknown Brush - Please help ID

Hello fellows and madams,

I found these two in my home town of Palmyra, MO on a recent business trip. I would like help ID-ing the brush. The knot measures 17mm and would love to re-hair it. Any thoughts or advice? I know what the mug is and am loving it. The glazing is completely cracked up but I love the character.

This is the first time I have seen the R with the heart and N.Y. on a brush

I haven't seen the brush before, but the mug looks like a nice first generation milk glass OS mug.

It doesn't look like milk glass to me, then again, I am no expert. It looks like glazed pottery. Weird brush?

That mug is a Hull Pottery mug. Most likely an 03. Produced from 1944 to the early 1950s. I have one of those myself.

No one else has seen this R heart NY logo on a brush before?

I'd wager that it is horse hair.
