Thread: Muhle "Retro Series"

    Default Muhle "Retro Series"

So, there is a press release posted on the Muhle site that mentions a new, limited edition brush in the new "Retro Series" to be released next month.

No pictures are available, but the knot is to be 25mm.

I am very curious about this. I haven't received a response from Muhle to the email I sent them.

Does any one know anything about this? Care to speculate on the style?

There was an eBay listing for a vintage Muhle brush, two tone, which may be the style.

Looking forward to this. I have soft spot for Mühle design, even though their brushes are on the floppy side, I still enjoy them highly and own 3 Mühle brushes.......currently......will add more soon, I think

I hope they won't be too floppy, as all Mühle are for my taste.

Or do I hope they'll be floppy? Save some €€€ that way :D

Some of the handle colors sound very interesting and promising!

    PRESS RELEASE

Then and now: The Retro Series from MÜHLE
At the end of 2011 the manufacturer of high-quality accessories for wet shaving
issued its "Red Gold Series" as a special model. With the new "Retro Series", a
further masterpiece from the MÜHLE manufactory is to be released in the middle
    of November.

October 2012. A mill, with four intersecting brushes instead of vanes: MÜHLE's original
logo plus a flanking Pure Badger sleeve adorns the new Retro Series which the
manufacturer is issuing in a limited edition of approx. 500 brushes. As from the middle of
November, timed to coincide with Christmas business, the exclusive brush models will go
on sale in the glowing colours Butterscotch, Azure, Pistachio and Ivory. "We have fitted
them with a particularly thick brush head (ring diameter 25 mm)," explains Managing
Director Andreas Müller, "as a tribute to lovers of traditional, highly voluminous shaving
    brushes."

The world-renowned manufacturer was inspired to the new retro design by a look in the
archives: the MÜHLE COLLECTION features all the development steps of the brand,
including the historical packaging. The typical colour palettes of the fifties and sixties
were taken up and carefully adapted to the 21st century. For the packaging design it was
decided to use a gift box from the sixties. The production methods comply with modern
premium standards for manufactory products. The materials used are high-grade resin
and silvertip badger hair. Approx. 22,000 individual hairs go into crowning such a
    masterpiece.

MÜHLE RETRO brush, model in Ivory/black Price €119.00
MÜHLE RETRO brush, model in Pistachio/black Price €119.00

Let me quote some of the FB pics here:

    The collection:

    In butterscotch:

    In pistacchio:

    In azur:

    And in faux ivory:

Rumor has it that the knots are 25 mm and have a 'long binding'.

Look nice but not what I was hoping for. Some of the older styles would have been real nice. Anyone got an idea on price?

Sure hope they didn't "color enhance" the photos. Methinks that would result in pure mayhem!!
