    Talking Razor #6

Ok, this is a complete custom that is also going on the auction block starting at a penny and likely to end up around $12 or so. I'd at least put in a cursory bid on this one if I were you because I have a feeling the system may choke on the number of snipe bids likely to come in on this one.
    • A full 6/8 440C Stainless Irish point to 59-61 Rc
    • Stabilized natural curly maple scales
    • 2mm Alpinite gem in butt spacer
You will not believe the holographic qualities these scales have. I get mesmerized by them. The furrows look like you could trip in them. If you rotate/turn/flip the razor, the grain puts on an ocean swelling dance before your very eyes. Curly maple has been one of the top 5 favorites of mine for as long as I can remember.

Bill...absolutely SWEET razor.....BTW, have you ever considered ever doing a curly maple set of scales in the old traditional stains used by the builders of American longrifles??

Maybe not, but I've done them with a little bit of color...

ANy type of stain would be nice and the natural is just absolutely beautiful...I definitely WILL be bidding on this razor..
The only reason I mentioned stain it is that you said the holographic 3 dimensional effect of the scales is mesmerizing....the old stains used by the master gunsmiths will exaggerate that effect. I have a few Kentucky flintlock rifles that I just get lost in the details of the wood....

The auction will go live today, Dec 7th at 6:20 PM, California time for a 7-day run.

Good luck snipers. Better throw in a cursory bid, though, in case the system crashes.

Nice work on both of these razors Bill. I fall into the category that my wife would kill me. Although I could shave with it for a week?

Numbers 5 and 6 both cleared the $20 mark very quickly.

Bill, where did you learn to make such admirable razors? Your craftsmanship is amazing, and you have impeccable taste.
