    Cool My Antique store find

Today on my way back from the beach I stopped in a antique store that I have looked at a few times in the past and I found this.

It is a 1965 Gillette Super Speed date code K 4. It is in pretty good condition but It will be in even better condition once I clean it up. Now can anyone tell me the best way to clean this type of razor. It has some gunk on it but not any plate loss or brassing that I can see. I you want to know I paid $15.00 for this razor.

that was one of my first "in the wild" find, enjoy it...soak in hot water and dawn diswashing liquid, after a spray soak in scrubbing bubbles...then a good scrub with a soft toothbrush gets the nooks and crannies for me, lastly a good shine with a silver polish, most here seem to recommend Maas

I just got my birth quarter super speed from fleabay for $15 shipped. While I like the heft of the fatboy, the super speed is a nice mild shave. I will be passing it on to my boy once he's old enough to shave.

Question... does the super speed have the 1/4 turn lock?
Looking for birth quarter razors L3 (1966 3rd quarter).

The super speeds don't have the 1/4 turn lock but they're secure when closed.

I really love classic cars. I can't, nor have the time to have one. I may have to turn to these old classics! Timeless.

+1 . . . exactly! MAAS or Simichrome work well if a polish is needed to bring out the shine. Stay away from Brasso or automotive polishes and cleaners . . . too harsh and can damage the plating!
