Brush recommendation (under $25)

Semogue 620 or 1305, IMO

Either a Semogue Boar, or a whipped dog silvertip. Either should run you under $25.

My Semogue 1305 and 1250 both do it all...simply great brushes.

I have both and they are excellent. The Whipped Dog is my first and only silvertip.

Larry has several "cosmetically flawed" handles that he's selling for half-price. I got a 20mm silvertip drilled to 48mm for $26 shipped. I was even able to find a handle that I really liked in his "discount bin". As an added bonus, I can't even tell how it's "cosmetically flawed".

Boar vs. badger is a personal preference, but don't waste your time and money with other "budget" badger brushes IMO.

Semogue 2000 is good but a bit specific in a world of brushes. I'd go with 81054/81056 or 31020/31025 Omega. Or a Semogue brush that fits the amount.

I think you would be very happy with any boar brush you choose. I own a 1305 and am currently breaking it in. Its a lovely brush. Good luck
