I found some cool stuff at the thrift stores today.

First, I found this Open-Comb (my first open-comb) Gillette Serial ... I doubt that this is the handle that goes with the head but had to try it when I go t home and, WOW! I am now an open comb fan! Now I really want the R41. Click image for larger version.

I also found these cool OS AS and Gillette ads. Too cool!

Finally, I found a set of 4 stainless-steel mugs form US Nash, a backalight bowl and lid, and a nice pocelin bowl. All I intend to store and use for Shave Soaps. The bad part is that I have more bowls than soaps right now. AD anyone?

    - a second hand Kent BK8 silvertip, luxurious!
    - an Omega 31052 (also called 81052) 25x55 mm. boar brush, from a local super store! At just 8,40 euros with travel tub and stand included I couldn't resist, hehe! A good replacement for my small Semogue 1335, which has its painted handle in bad state...

    Cheers!
Please, excuse my written English, I'm Spanish and still learning... ;-)

agreed, nice Kent. The BK8 is on my list to try/buy.

Last week I had no FatBoy's, this week I have 2. The better of the 2 will go with the case and the 2nd had some black band issues, so I cleaned it up and we will leave this one au natural.

Thanks man. Its supposedly from the 1920-30's based on the Tree stamped on it. Im not sure though. A modern Boker sells for around $160 NIB, so I think I did OK regardless of its age. I think I would like to rescale it. Those black scales look bland. Im more concerned with completing my kit for now.I need a strop.

Well, I got my Gillette Slim Adjustable on it's way back from Stan at Above the Tie for restoration and I have a bottle of D.R. Harris Sandalwood aftershave on the way.

My own haul today consisted of my much-awaited first boar brush - a Semogue 1305.
Having my 'alternate' Den at work, I could not help but unpack the brush and take it for a few spins on a puck of Calani Lavender shave soap and a good ten minutes of hand-lathering. Amazing the amount of lather this little brush creates, fresh out of the box... and the 'lather' picture below was done after just about 1 minute. After I had taken that picture, there was a literal lather explosion, can't wait to get this one really worked up after a warm-up period of the first 10-20 shaves...

Scored a little SCS love today. A package contained a puck of Chilled Clove & Fig and Sugar as well as a bottles of Refined AS with menthol and EDT. The Fig soaps smells fantastic.
