    Default Apothecary style mugs

I am wondering what some more seasoned veterans think about apothecary style shaving mugs? I haven't used one before...they look neat, but I don't know if "form meets function", or if that little know handle causes more problems than it's worth.

Any and all opinions are welcome!

Had one, broke one, little knob slippery.

Keith, I think that they're an attractive design but haven't used one. I've been quite satisfied with a bowl and find most mugs to be somewhat confining. I suspect the Apothecary Mug would work fine if you're inclined to get one. They're a little expensive though, whereas the bowls are cheap.

I have an apothecary style mug from Burt's Bees. I used it for several years until I realized that it's actually relatively expensive and a little hard to come by. What's more, the knob makes holding it a little difficult, what with the slipperiness of the soap or cream. So, before I even had any chance of breaking it, I decided to replace it with a department store soup bowl with a handle. Nevertheless, my apothecary mug sits together with the rest of my shaving stuff as part of a proud display.

BTW, while I was using it to lather up, it worked like a charm.

I have an apothecary mug and found it to be very useful when I was using a small brush. Now that I use a 30mm Shavemac I find there is not enough room so I use a bowl, however I do use the mug all the time for soaking the brush.
