    Default Wallets

I need to get a new wallet. I've never bought one before (always got them as gifts). I have no idea where to even begin my search. Any recommendations on what to buy, where to buy it from, and cost/value of a quality wallet?

Department stores, online discount stores, outlet malls...it depends on what you have in mind as far as composition, workmanship and features. I recently purchased a wallet made from buffalo hide and I'm thinking it may be the best wallet I wever purchased. I bought it at a mens' shoe store. It was made by The Buffalo Billfold Company.

Funny this thread just popped up. My Hartmann front pocket wallet (some call them money clip wallets) has about had it, and I have no clue where to look myself.

I have a medium bifold, and the small wallet both from Saddleback Leather

Very popular brand on this site, which is how I discovered them.
    Also have their dop kit.

I have a Fossil bi-fold wallet that is going on, like, 8 years or so. Its got a little fraying action that I need to trim off. Other than that, its great.

    This ^^

I made the move to a minimalist wallet about 4-5 years ago, but unfortunately (or fortunately), the wallet didn't last. I liked the format and but was growing tired of "disposable" wallets. I went with the Saddleback ID wallet and have no doubt that it may outlast me... Be warned: A Saddleback wallet can be a gateway drug to an expensive Saddleback habit...

I love my Bosca wallet. I've had it for 12 years now. It's still in great shape. I liked it so much, I purchased the 12-card wallet and Dopp kit. Hoping to get one of their briefcases one day.

If you want to buy one that will last forever (or at least until you lose it) you can't go wrong with Saddleback. I have the medium and small bi-fold, and use the small most often. I find the medium is actually quite large. They are made of fairly thick durable leather and I am more than pleased with my selections.

Tumi Delta Money Clip Wallet. A 2 fold with a built in money clip instead of a long pocket. This is the thinnest and lightest wallet. I've had a precursor to this now for 15 years. It's a front pocket wallet. Thick wallets worn in the hip pocket is asking for back pain.

I bought a Hugo Boss bi fold about 6 months ago. I think it took me 3 or 4 weeks to find a wallet that matched the configuration I wanted. When I was younger I used to prefer a tri fold but as I've gotten older, I've now embraced the bi fold wallets.

Saddleback for me too - medium size, brown. It's perfect, and looks like it will last forever. My sons are already arguing about who gets it when I kick the bucket.
    Best $50 I ever spent.

I switch between a Brooks Brothers cordovan and an Ettingers in bridal leather. As much as I love the Ettingers, it is not well suited to daily use.

I have a Fossil front-pocket wallet with money clip. It's nice, but only carries 3 cards. Between my license, attorney ID, and building access card, I don't have space for a debit card.

I would like either a two-fold or tri-fold and I'm not looking to spend more than $100.
