Default strange question for the fragrance forum..

I work in medicine...direct patient care as a Physician Assistant, when i was in my training, we were taught not to wear fragrances, as patients who often don't feel well to begin with, can easily be made sick to their stomach by heavy scents, even from their care provider...

So can someone recommend an after shave that has a super super light scent...

colognes i wear on the weekend when i am not working, so no worries there...

4711 has a very light scent that fades very quickly.

If you are looking for absolutely no scent and you don't need a traditional AS, then Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel would be perfect

are the scented thayers "light" like the cucumber?

i would like some "scent" just not an overpowering one...something clean and fresh that will only be noticed by me and those "real close"

Everyone's nose is different, but I find that they are not overpowering to start with, and fade fast, faster than any AS. But your YMMV. 4711 is the fastest fading and light AS i know of, with Lucky Tiger coming in a distant 2nd.

That's dead-on for Proraso splash IMO.

    Florida Water.
Light, citrusy, and fades pretty darned quickly.

As a fragrance, you might try Gendarme. It's pretty light, clean, soapy. It is not truly hypoallergenic, but the creator has a lot of allergies and developed a scent less likely to bother those allergies. It's a nice "clean" scent that I doubt would trouble many people.

As for an AS, I prefer balms myself, and find the Trumpers Skin Foods work well. Lightly scented, I don't feel they have enough presence to bother anyone.

Lucido is a great scentless aftershave.

Any of the Thayers witch hazel's should be fine. I personally use the unscented one, but I have tried the rose and cucumber as well. They are very light.

I actually like the scent of thayers unscented witch hazel. It has virtually no scent once applied, but just before splashing it on my face I find the scent to be quite nice, though impossible to describe.

Babasol Pacific Rush. It's a huge menthol blast, and a short lived sporty scent.

Thayers Witch Hazel After Shave - small bottle with green label, basically no residual scent after splashing it on and it works very well. I like this a bit better than the big bottles of Thayers because it is just a bit more bracing with a slightly higher alcohol content.
Lucido - another good choice for scentless with a nice kick of menthol.
4711 and Florida Water - might be interesting if you like a very light scent that will fade, both were considered in their time to be slightly healing to people. Florida Water makes a great room freshner when combined with distilled water and misted in a room.

You get (9) 2oz bottles of Thayers witch hazel. One of each type. You will also be able to see if you like the ones with or without alcohol. Only $17! A good deal.
