  1. Default has anybody purchased a pils recently?

i just ordered one and hearing about the rust issues does not please me...i read a review or maybe somewhere else i don't exactly remember that shavings of metal were being pressed into the cap causing rust. i also saw something about a new 2year warranty on their razor, anybody know if this would cover a rusty cap? what i'm asking is if the most recently made razors have this issue resolved. i don't intend on taking the blade out after every single shave and blow drying my razor after using it because that's ridiculous...any help or input is appreciated.

Not for sure - I just about pulled the trigger on one recently that a guy had for sale on the bay. I sent him a message about the rust issue and he wrote me back that yes, it had a little bit of "occasional" rust on the base of the head and the underside of the cap. That was enough to steer me clear of the one he had for sale - if you're buying from a dealer who will stand behind it (a new Pils), you should be fine. Unless they have changed something however, I would probably suggest that indeed you do "remove" the blade in between shaves just to be on the safe side.

I ordered one from Royal shave....I hope u did too, cause u get the 10% bandb discount and free shipping.....anyways, I purchased mine in dec '11 before my 2012 sabbatical kicked in......It was an ok razor, I can see how people either love or hate it....Mine had no issues whatsoever with rusting, pitting, blade alignment, it was in perfect condition imo. I dont know about the warranty life, but I would assume the initial coverage would come from the vendor you purchased the razor from, if its bad out of the box I mean. good luck with it, it is a very nice razor!

I did order from royalshave.com...I also forgot to use the discount code until after I completed the order process so that sucks. I sent them an email asking if they could adjust the price before they charged my card but I haven't got an update or heard from them yet.

Where did you see the mention of a new two-year warranty? Sounds like it's a manufacturer's warranty so you'd have to go through Pils. You should send them an email to see if they cover a rusty cap. That'd be the way I'd find the answer to your question. If it's a recent warranty, I doubt anyone has had experience with filing a claim yet.

They will definitely refund the amount of the discount -- they've done it for me in the past.

Also, I've had my Pils for a year now, and I've never seen a single dot of rust. I don't take the blade out between shaves either. I'm sure that others have had this problem because it gets reported now and then, but I think that this occasional problem misses the vast majority of people who have these razors and enjoy them without any problems.

i have had two and have never experienced any issues with rust. i am not sure how it develops unless you leave it in a humid environment with a wet blade, possibly. Good luck.

I remember hearing that they had a vew problems a couple of years ago but I think they were resolved. Neither my son's nor mine have exhibited any issues whatsoever.
