    Default New Colgate shave soap?

Amazon is selling this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Colgate-Shavin...s=shaving+soap

I'm not sure if its new but I don't think amazon sells vintage stuff.

sells it for $1.19 a puck
    wonder if it's any good?
I checked ebay and say some selling it for $3 and i saw a lot of listings for "vintage" colgate pucks that look very similar and don't show the sides of the box...wonder if people are passing off new colgate pucks as vintage, especially since one sale was a lot of 25 vintage pucks

It's most certainly just an old stock of the product that was discontinued about five years ago. Read the old reviews, it was basically consider to be a totally worthless product. $8 for a puck that barely lathers is a total rip off!!

It's a discontinued product, all of it could thus be considered vintage. Colgate came as two products: Colgate Cup Soap, and Colgate Mug Soap. Only the Cup Soap is considered to be worthwhile.

The Cup Soap is vintage tallow goodness, the Mug Soap was very poorly reviewed, and basically useless.

I am getting a puck of this for free, so I thought why not? If it sucks as some have said, I'm not out anything.

i got a puck off amazon for a dollar, i havent tried it yet, that was i'd say about a month or so ago when i bought it, i've noticed amazon's prices fluctuate depending on stock (per amount on hand from various vendors) i might mix it in with some williams and see what happens

I switched to Colgate when Old Spice shave soap became hard to find. At that time one was limited to what one could get at the drugstore, and I thought Colgate was far superior to Williams. It cost about a dollar a puck back then. When Colgate announced that they were discontinuing it, several vendors bought up the remaining stock so that's probably what one is finding on Amazon and other places. It probably won't compare favorably with newer brands that have been crafted to the higher expectations and standards of today's wet shaving connoisseurs, but I have fond memories of it. But no, I wouldn't pay $8 for it now when I can get far better for that price or less.

My puck was delivered today, and when I opened it...WOW! Smell can bring back memories! I smelled that puck and was instantly a young kid back in my grandfathers bathroom. I haven't tried it yet, but just thought it was amazing how much that smell affected me. I love how clean it smells.

If you have memories of a smell like that, than that alone is worth a few bucks.
