What's new

What are you drinking tonight?

Christmas gift from the Mrs....Seattle's own Batch 206 Bourbon - "Old Log Cabin" - which claims heritage with President Harrison and the St Valentine's Day Massacre. Not sure about any of that, but it's quite nice straight.

Caesars.

Clamato Juice with vodka, a splash of Tabasco, a dollop of horseradish in a tall glass rimmed with celery salt and garnished with a stalk of fresh celery.

A Canadian thing.:001_cool:

Snowdrift Vanilla Porter anyone?

Fussy Evil Genius
Last night was a medium-dry Hendrick's/NP Extra Dry martini, followed by 2011 Runquist "Z" Zinfandel.

Fussy Evil Genius
Hendrick's gin & Dubonnet, with a quarter slice of Meyer lemon from the back yard tree, a splash of tonic, and a dash of orange bitters, on the rocks. I couldn't tell you why, but that sure is hitting the spot.

Tonight's drink is Bowmore 15yr "Darkest" . Darkest is an apt name as the colour is almost red. A very, very deep amber.
On the nose, a salty peat. Chocolate saltiness.
On the palate; sweetness, fluffy pancakes with syrup, followed up with a light chat (as if the pancakes were left on too long) and a hint of candied oranges or candied cherries, I can't quite pick it out
Slightly oily in the tongue, finish is medium with a hint of spices tingling the tongue for a minute after swallowing
A few drops of water brings out the orange and the spices
A bit too spicy now, the spices overwhelm the other flavours
Big hits of cinnamon
Not quite as bad as doing that cinnamon challenge but not far off

Overall a very nice dram.

Cheers,

M.
