Default New Penworks Grade A silvertip brush

I Got a new brush from penworks, and it was delivered today. I wanted to buy a brush, but was shocked by the $150+ price tag on some of the silvertip brushes out there. I found penworks and the golden NIB, and decided that $50 isnt all that bad of a price for a great brush, that will last years, lead to a superior lather, and a superior shave, (compared to my $8 tweezerman brush).

    It arrived yesterday.

The brush is a 20mm grade A silverip badger brush, bulb shaped. 48mm loft, 48mm handle.

It came in this nice little pouch.

I was extremely supprised in how HUGE of a difference a quality brush makes. Got an amazing lather, felt nice and smooth on the face (compared to the tweezerman), led to a better shave, and better feeling skin afterwards. It shed a few (maybe 8-10) hairs its first time, but absolutely no hairs shed today. And it just looks better! Nice and soft with good backbone, but not too much, and maintains its shape quite nicely! The hairs on the tweezerman, however, are WAY uneven, and the loft looks blotchy.

These brushes are great quality, and at a great price. (dont have anything else to compare it to, but im sure its just as good as the $150+ silvertip brushes!)

I find the Grade A knots to be superb and actually prefer them to some of the high dollar brushes I've tried, YMMV. The 2 band finest is another great knot. Enjoy your new brush.

That is a beautiful brush Jake, and I am sure that it will give you many years of grate shaves.

    It is beautiful!
I too am glad there are cheaper and nice alternative silvertips around, like pen works and whippeddog.

Simple and clean! Handles with that shape are always awesome. And Vanessa is so easy to deal with over at TGN.
