    Default Banking Your Growth

Its friday, no work till monday, I have a new razor and some new soaps... on sunday ill hav a great shave cause im saving stubble. Nothing more gatefying then mowing down 3 days growth on your first pass, certainly more gratefying then a single days growth

anyone else do this or prefer more days growth for the shave ? save up for a bday shave or when new gear is inbound ? do you notice a difference between a single days or more growth for yourself......

In this crowd, i cant be alone on this one

Can't help you on this one, James. I'm a daily shaver out of necessity. If I didn't shave for 3-days, I could be shaping a beard. On the plus side, it means your soaps and creams will last you a while

I shaved off 5 days growth today and it was amazing. Before this forum, 5 days was not a big deal, but in those last 3 days I felt like a bum. I love being clean shaven thank to B&B.

    James,
I know exactly what you mean.
I find that I get a more gratifying shave when I mow down a 2day or 3day growth. Perhaps it's my imagination, but the blade edge seems to catch the 'stem' of the individual hairs more cleanly and efficiently, resulting in a palpably smoother result. Also, there is an undeniable thrill in peering at my razor between rinses, scrutinizing all the chunky hair bits suspended in the lather/cream.
My biggest challenge is holding off from shaving everyday...so many different razors/blades/brushes/soaps/AS/etc to try...so little time...
    I keep telling myself...it's a healthy obsession

I get a way better shave if I take at least a day off. I think the skin gets a chance to heal more which lets you shave closer without irritation. I waver between trying to be clean shaven everyday and shaving every other day or longer to get the epic results.

Ravi I like seeing the hair floating around my sink too... Sam I think one day for you is 3 days for us mortals anyway

I shave daily. So I have no idea what it would be like. If I skip a day I get ingrowns.

Must admit since stumbling into this lifestyle, the challenge and pleasure of having a great shave has me shaving daily. Used to skip it for a day or two on weekends, because it was a pleasureless chore. It always felt good to be clean-shaven, but the drudgery involved made postponing it easy. Now I look forward to it so much I haven't skipped a single day since starting DE wetshaving.

Sometimes your hair can't grow fast enough to try everything plus new toys make it hard to wait

My facial hair doesn't grow fast enough to get a good shave if I've shaved the day before. I shaved this morning and it was the first time in years that I've shaved on consecutive days, and I remembered why. My WTG and XTG passes were just cutting lather, and the ATG pass felt like I was scraping sandpaper. Thanks to Arko and Astra, there was no irritation, yet I didn't get a very smooth shave. I wish that I could shave every day, but I just can't. I don't even have visible stubble until 36-48 hours after my shave.

Since discovering the joys of traditional shaving, I've been shaving every 2-3 days with great results. Plus, I get a much smoother shave if there's a few days of growth. I went five days while waiting on a delivery, and finally mowing it down with my shavette was glorious, and the shave was the best one that I've had in my life. I also find that the tricky spots on my jaw and chin are much easier to get BBS if there's a few extra days of growth. There are a few patches on those areas that my razor wouldn't even touch this morning.

    Hiya
Believe it or not, I was more inclined to not shvae for a couple of days at a time when I was cartridge shaving, actually, I would say I shaved a max of three times a week then.

I am DE shaving a couple of months now, and enjoying it so much, I shave every day, sometimes, when I get some new stuff or want to try a new combo, I wish I could shave more than once a day.

That may well ease off after a while. But back to your point, I do know what you mean, it's great to see a hairy sink ;)

I used to regularly go 4-5 days without shaving. It's much more satisfying to mow down 3 days of growth than 1 day. Since joining B&B it's hard for me to go three days without a shave. I'm getting such good shaves now I don't really need to shave every day but it's hard not to!

I do notice when the shave den is stable I do more three day shaves but when I have new stuff coming in and trying out my hair just doesn't grow fast enough but those shaves are more about the gear then the shave itself, for days of having a Zen shave just for me 3 days growth is better, so now I test stuff out during the week and save the Sunday shave just for enjoyment so I save stubble over the weekend for it

From time to time I force myself to skip a day, so the next day I can use one of my New o/c. It requires an iron will not to shave a day, you know! I missed my Friday's shave yesterday and felt bad all day long touching my face frequently.

I normally shave every day and feel grungy if I don't. However, I have my Straight Razor Shave at the Barber scheduled for this Thursday. I plan on not shaving starting Monday so I can feel I got my moneys worth.
