Default my account reset, very odd

Almost one month after joining badger and blade and posting about 50 posts I noticed my post count and sign up date reset. It happened almost one month to the day. Now it says I signed up in august rather than july and my post count reset down. Its the oddest thing, has this happened to anyone else?

If you relapse and use a cartridge razor, your post count resets to zero...!

Just kidding...you may want to PM one of the moderators on this.

Strange. The only thing I can think of is maybe your posts weren't up to snuff? There was talk of automatic software that checks the character counts of your posts.

That is out of the ordinary; how close to 50 were you when it reset?

Very odd, unless you posted a high number of posts that were just fluff, this should not have happened! The good news is at the B&B quality trumps quantity every time.

Its not just my post count though, my registration date also changed. So even though I signed up in July it now says I signed up August 13th. Does this mean anytime I put up a post thats not up to scruff my registration date will be changed? if you go to my account profile you will see that it says I signed up on August 13th however if you look at my past posts I have been making posts since late July.

I do know that fluff posts will not be counted and I am guessing the posts I put welcoming people to the HOF aren't being counted which is what I expected. Its just annoying that it now looks like I have been on the forum for less than a week when I have been posting on here almost daily for nearly a month.

I hear ya. Well, if you just keep hanging around and contribute your opinions and whatnot the lost month won't matter much, and your account won't be affected anymore.

    Welcome to B&B btw

I got in touch with one of the mods. I guess what happened was I was bored one night and decided to post a couple welcome messages in the Hall of Fame and they felt this was suspicious activity so they reset my account. To be safe I'll stick to the larger forums for now. I looked through the hall of fame and it seems like most of the people who welcome new people on have thousands of posts. I wasn't aware that this would be an issue but I know now.

I understand where they were coming from though, I guess they were afraid since it was so close to 45 days that I was trying to start scamming people on BST and wanted my post count to go up. So they were just watching out for the good of the community trying to keep out scammers from ripping people off.

Don't worry so much about your post count. Just sit back and enjoy B&B! There are MANY great people and an unbelievable amount of information on this site at your fingertips! Browse around, get into some conversations, and let people get to know you. That is more important then the amount of posts you have.

It's cool. I don't think anyone is accusing you of any shady behaviour or anything, but you can see how some people might do that sort of thing. One of the Mods jobs is to keep an eye out for anything like that that might be happening and act on it. It is nothing personal, they are just watching out for the members, as you say.

The main meat and bones of this place is new guys asking questions, and the more experienced guys trying to answer. If you make most of your posts fall into one of those two categories you will be amazed at how fast the post count creeps up. And there is nothing wrong with welcoming new people, that is always encouraged, and a nice thing to do. But the one word posts should definitely be a very small percentage of what a member contributes if he wants to get the most of what this forum has to offer.

Post count (and join date) is an issue if someone has something they want to put on BST

Ya.. we've had some really... uhh... "interesting" threads posted by those who were simply trying to reach 50/45... deny it, then post their ad and we never see them again.
