    Default How to measure brushes.

Can anyone tell me what tools are used to accurately measure the knot size and loft of a brush? I cannot see a ruler being accurate enough.

Caliper for knot size. framing square for loft.

Or whatever you like? Any number of ways to measure accurately. String + ruler works for diameter. Ruler and anything straight works for loft.

Digital caliper. Works for both knot size and loft.
