Default Polsilver Super Iridium DE Blades at BullGoose

The Super Iridium was the blade that all other blades were compared against until they virtually disappeared from western stores a couple of years ago. Super Iridium blades did not actually get discontinued though. When they disappeared from Western stores, it was because of the change in distribution to P&G Poland. The blades however are still being made as always by PPI in St. Petersburg, Russia under license from Gillette USA. With the change in distribution came a change in packaging but by all accounts, these are the same Super Iridium blades that you have known and loved. They are back!!!

This is great news, Phil. I hope you stocked up on these - they're going to fly off your shelves.

One last word of farewell, Dear Master and Mistress.

    Whenever you visit my grave,

    say to yourselves with regret

but also with happiness in your hearts

at the remembrance of my long happy life with you:

"Here lies one who loved us and whom we loved."

No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you,

and not all the power of death

    can keep my spirit

    from wagging a grateful tail.

That's your opinion. I personally think they suck.

By all accounts these are the same Russian SI's? Just purchased 100 Phil. :) And will be purchasing a lifetime supply from you if this truly turns out to be the case. :)

I've tried them and, while I can't say if they are the same blade, I can say that I can't tell any difference. As sharp as any blade I've used, and smoother than all but a couple of others. I got 6 shaves from one blade that were indistinguishable from the first, and a 7th that was just as comfortable but not quite as close. Pretty much exactly like the original Super Iridiums. As good as any blade I've used. Bullgoose's price is a bargain.

Sharp yes. For me not that much of a comfortable shaver compared to a SI or Poli SI.
Glad the Poli SI's are at BG with as good a price as they offer.

Can't wait to try them. This could be an answer to prayer for me, I had 2 SI blades left from my original stash.

Ordered a card of 100 Saturday and recieved it in the mail this Monday morning. Phil is the man! Just as he said, the box says 'made in Petersburg'. Can't wait for my evening shave before work so I can compare these SI's to the original.

Phil mentioned I would get mine today, and they are out for delivery now. I did not shave this morning in order to try them out as soon as I get home.

j_fro: I've been using Polsilver SI blades and love them! Until now they've been difficult to get in the States. I just placed an order with Phill to add to my ever increasing stockpile of PSI blades. You're going to have a great shave this evening. I've yet to try a blade that can best Polsilver SI blades. Go home and get your shave on! You're going to enjoy it!

I did! I have admittedly not used Feathers so I can not compare the two but these blades worked really well for me on the first shave. I am not the most experienced DE user out there, I occasionally get a lil razor burn (Hello Gillette Super Thin), and I am generally pleased with a 2 pass or 3 pass DFS- but I liked these alot. Glad I got 50 just in case. For me these are the best I have used so far -the others being Merkur, Wilkinson, Gillette Super Thin, Personna Red.
