    Default Best starter cream?

So, I've only used soaps. I would like to at least try ONE cream. What should my first be? I love menthol, so maybe that helps?

Proraso would be a fine choice for a menthol lover. It can be found at Bath and Bodyworks rebranded as C.O. Bigelow.

Grab a tube of Proraso, squeeze a bit into a bowl, whip it up into a great lather and enjoy!

There really isnt a menthol cream that is in the top tier. Get a Trumpers or T&H cream

Proraso/Bigelow or Palmolive menthol (Euro version). Not anywhere QCS Vostok chilling. Vostok is like liquid nitrogen on your face.

going to go against the grain here (*cough* sorrybadpun) and suggest Kiss My Face. I prefer it to proraso, but it's also widely available.

I started with C. O. Bigelow - readily available at Bath & Body Works. If you want to order off the I-net, try a Truffit and Hill sampler set.

    Twenty guys say proraso.

One guy: There isn't one. Try this stuff:

    Brass boys. Brass.

I haven't used Pro green but Pro red lathers better than Palmolive green for me and Palmolive green is in every way like toothpaste until it's lathered. I put the brush to my face and said, "Why would anyone want their shave cream to smell like toothpaste". Can't say that Pro green doesn't smell the same as I don't have any, but that smell ruined the shave for me. (And I'm not picky about smells usually).

-1 (!) on the Proraso IMHO the scent is awful. I would strongly recommend Musgo Real!

+ 1 On Musko Real original, it has menthol in it and some other goodies like lanolin and coconut oil. It has nice cooling effect and leaves a wonderful feeling on the skin. I having tried both it and Proraso and IMO it makes a superior lather.

TOBS and GFT are also wonderful performers as is O Melhor
