Default A slow and horrifying moment...

This morning I was taking my pens and pencils out for the day and reached for my eyedroppered Preppy full of BSB. I've been on a clumsy roll and it goes flying out of my hands, hits the nightstand, bounces up with the cap flying one direction and the pen headed for the nice new carpet my wife had put in a few months ago. That moment - watching the plastic tube of unmitigated horror - flip through the air...well it sickenly seemed to take forever. I do believe I was near panic when I went to get it off the floor to find...nothing. Pen just laying there, no ink anywhere. Checked for cracking, found none, and finally breathed. Man I love that ink but having watched it stain a STAINLESS STEEL sink, the idea of trying to explain to a wife who already finds my various AD's to be a sign of mental illness that there's a pretty blue design to the carpet in the bedroom....well that's a conversation that I'm happy I don't have to have today!

    Have a good day guys!

Dodged a major bullet there. It's such a lovely color, but it is definitely hazardous. I only keep it in my pens that I know are airtight.

Isn't it amazing how we see all of these type episodes in slow motion! I was holding my breath reading that. Glad you averted disaster!

That would not have been a fun conversation with the wife. If she's anything like mine, I would run and keep running.

I held my breath when I read that.
Although I've had pretty good luck cleaning up the Bay State Blue inks with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
It takes it off of my hands and any 'stains' in the stainless steel ink.
I'm not certain it'd work on carpet but it is something to keep in mind.

I was actually able to envision the scenario as I read it. Of course in my version the stain was there and hilarity ensued. Haha

BSB is my everyday ink and it definitely stains but I have never had bad luck getting the stubborn (with water) stains out with plain ol rubbing alcohol.

That Preppy's a pretty decent pen ... the feed not coughing up ink when tossed around like that.
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

Sounds like that ink should come with a dog house and a comfortable couch, just in case... or get a cat so you have someone to blame... exciting story glad you weren't sent to the hospital lol

    You got lucky, my friend.

I had a similar experience last night. Last night I decided to disassemble and clean a few pens that have been filled with i-g inks. One pen was nearly empty, the other had a bit left. As a notoriously cheap guy I decided to dump the ink into a spare bottle. The pen with some ink left is a ED so I remove the section and proceed to dump the ink. When I check the bottle I do not see any ink. Hmmm? I look around my desk....to find nothing. Hmmm? I look down the front of my clothes....to find nothing. Maybe there wasn't as much it as I had thought? Mystery solved, I head to the sink to clean the pens. While cleaning the pens I finally find out where the ink found purchase: the forearm side of my elbow. This caused a bit of alarm until I imagined the rest of the ink possibly soaking into my bedroom carpet. This caused a "slow and horrifying moment" so I boogied back to the bedroom only to find no ink stains. Nada. Another tragedy averted.

We have to wear khakis at work. So, I am wearing a brand new pair, have only been wearing them for less than an hour. I am loading BSB into my Studio. As I pull the pen out of the bottle, someone walks in the tech room. As I turn to look, the unwiped pen is hanging above my leg. I turn back in time to see a big drop off the pen in mid air. It lands about center mid-thigh. The cleaners wont touch it, so I have to figure what to use to try to get it out.

BSB-colored Khakis? Might be easier to treat the rest of the pants than remove the spot.
