Default Sung Homme, whats your take?

I bought a gift set of Sung Homme at TJ Maxx for $20, it included a 3.4oz bottle of cologne and aftershave. I had never smelled the stuff but I bought it any way. I used the aftershave today and I like it. Its got that 70s/80s powerhouse vibe, very masculine. Any body here use the stuff?

Bought a bottle blind after seeing some positive reviews on basenotes calling it a 'soapy' clean scent. It smelled very chemical on me, like hot plastic. Gave me a headache.

I didn't like Sung Homme the first few times I sniffed it on paper in the shop.
But after spraying it on my wrist, I couldn't stop sniffing it all night and went back and bought a bottle next day.

It's not much liked at Basenotes, but there is a small group that really like it a lot, me included obviously.

Subtlety is not this scent's strong point.
    Regards,
    Renato

I read the reviews on Basenotes and recently blind bought a bottle of this fragrance off someone for $3.00. I think Sung Homme by Alfred Sung is wonderful. It does have a warm fresh spice, woody, herbal, floral presentation (ultimately a lot of people put this together as soapy) with strong projection. That's why with this fougere, you only need to use small amounts in strategic places to get the desired effect. If you use too much you may end up with a headache like Monkeyboy. Personally I happen to like this fragrance so the fact that this has some power behind it makes me very happy and only $3.00 lighter for the wear.

On a side note for those who are interested. Try wearing one light spray to the chest after showering and before going to bed at night. It's very relaxing and may get you some extra attention

SuperChris I think you found yourself a really good deal! That is the large size bottle of cologne and an aftershave included only sweetens the deal. Yes it is very masculine. Enjoy!

Believe it or not, I wore Sung Homme when I was in the 6th grade.

I have not smelled it since and really have no recollection of what it smells like.

Definitely a "soapy" powerhouse (yet another aromatic fougere of the 80s), but you have to wait for the dry down to get to the soapy part. The top notes are a hot mess, but when everything settles down, the dry down is a pretty nice soapy scent.

An ex gave this to me in the 90's, as she loved the smell. I wore it daily, and got all kinds of compliments, then I sort of moved on to other scents. I recently ordered a bottle, for which I'm still waiting. I'm hoping I get the same reaction I got in the past.

I've been into scents a long time.
I still don't know what "soapy" means or smells like.
    Cheers,
