    Default Open Fire Coffee Roast

    Hey all! I actually did this last June and ran into the pictures just a little while ago. I thought you might enjoy.

    you seem to have the "everything" roast goin on there. must of tasted interesting.

    This was my second time of roasting over a fire. Some of the lighter colored beans you see are actually chaf that hasn't come off. It comes off much easier when in a drum or air roaster.
    Although, if I recall correctly I could have gone just a little longer. If you like smokey you would have loved it.

    im a peat head so yea smoke is nice. i actualy like a bit of color differences it ads more depth to the coffee.

    We have had cool evenings lately and finding these pictures has inspired me to do it again. It was very good the first two times, why not right?

    Looks like a fun and rewarding way to roast coffee, thanks for posting pictures. I would be interested in hearing how your future roasting attempts go. Gearchow may have more to say, but if you not seen him roast coffee check out this thread: Home roasting over an open flame
