    Default Le Labo Favourites?

I recently tried a sample of Le Labo Santal 33 and love it. It is the only Le Labo I have tried, so I was wondering if there are fans of the house here and what their favourites are?

I'm going to have to jump on the Rose 31 bandwagon!

Rose 31 for me. Vetiver 46 is kind of nice in cold weather. Much more an incense scent than Vetiver though. While I'm sure is has some Vetiver in it, it's unrelateale to those of used to Guerlain Vetiver or some of the other classic vet scents.

A buddy at work has several of their scents and Santal 33 is pretty standout. Patchouli 24 is quirky, but has some fans. But is oft cited as heavy on the smoke, leather and vanilla.

Oud 27 has the foulest opening notes I've ever run across. It's been a couple years since I tried it and maybe my appreciation has changed.

One must always be clear with them, they have a penchant for giving their frags misleading names. That's not to say they don't make a lot of good stuff, but seem to enjoy the misleading names.

They also like to slip a little bit of "dirty" into most of their stuff. But I mean that mostly in a good way.

I bought the discovery set with oud, tuberes, burgemont. That oud is some foul smelling stuff

LOL... Way to heavy of the "dirty" - I could never hang with enough to see if it mellowed into anything wearable.

Bleach like was one explanation I've seen. It conjures for me something I won't indicate in here.

    I love them, too.

The Patchouli 24 is one of the best fragrances i've ever smelled (Thank you Henry!)

    Iris is absolutely stunning.

I also disagree with most of the Oud comments, it's nothing less than addictive and vigorous.

    Enough said

Hate oud 27, but love oud - but oud 27 is NOT oud at all, its sour sweatty feet

Thanks for the replies - looks like a Rose 31 sample is in my future! Patchouli 24 sounds interesting too.

Patchouli 24 was reformulated last year and has a sweeter edge to it now. The earlier version was drier and had a little more oomph. Due to supply issues, Le Labo was forced to reformulate it but I don't know what ingredient was becoming scarce. The newer version is a little softer but still good. If you find an older bottle you should snatch it up. I've tried them side by side and the difference is noticeable and I very much prefer the older.

I also recognize the fact that Le Labo's Oud is not an oud at all but truly love it anyway and it's one of the rare synthetic ouds on the market that I utterly enjoy. I don't find it repulsive at all and really respect their interpretation of the note. It's an outstanding creation, perhaps not for everyone, but outstanding nonetheless. Given the reformulation of P24, I often wonder if any of the others have been reformulated.

For some reasons, Santal 33 just doesn't cut it for me. It's nice, well-constructed, but uneventful.

I tried Rose 31 last year and hated it.

I wore Santal 33 yesterday and really liked it. (I just hope it wasn't the trigger for the big headache I developed.)

I'm wearing Vetiver 46 today and I'm not crazy about it as of now.

I got mostly incense and wood, heavier on the wood. It seemed kind of discordant to me.

I've only worn it once, and will try it again.

I am curious about your thoughts on the City Exclusive Poivre 23 and Another 13 fragrance.

I'm wearing it again today and enjoying it a bit more. The incense seems more prominent. It's a bit cooler today, so that might be making a difference.
