    Came across this picture while reading up on cycling, and thought it was great to see the causal style of the spectators.

    Here's another cycling photo, this one from the Tour de France in the 1920s:

    Apparently it was thought that smoking "opened up the lungs" and was therefore a good thing to do before heading into a serious climb.
