I had a Kimson brush and I agree with you that is a superb brush: a really soft hair with some backbone and a marvellous handle.

But men, the problem is the support service: I had to wait many months for mine, later I had problems with it (handle with cracks, loosing hair) and I had to send dozens of e-mails speaking very angry to get a response of Mr. Kimson, who only sent extrange excuses as explanation. Yeah, I had to threaten it with legal consequences to get a response, and spent many weeks with this issue, incredible...

Finally I got a full refund, because I didn't want to wait more months for a replace (and in fact I ended so angry with that guy that I prefered to cut any future relationship with him), but I must sent him the cracked brush before... and men, send a brush from Spain to Vietnam using registered shipping is EXPENSIVE. So finally a lost time, money and patience with that guy.

Hope you can enjoy your brushes without any problems anyway

    Cheers!

I have to agree with this. I asked for a lower loft on my first brush, and they said they had technical problems and so did not receive my request. I then asked for a lower loft on the second brush, and they still didn't do anything. This is to say nothing of not knowing when you're going to get your brush.

You can avoid that hassle and go with the QED Select. Now you won't be able to customize that knot but it is a very nice and soft silvertip brush... And has a short delivery time

Those are all gorgeous brushes, love the individual patterns. I have the QED Select and I love it. They look strikingly similar to the Kimsons - which is a compliment to be sure.

I want another after being infected by this thread. QED Select in black natural.....and some soaps.....and.....

I ordered a Kimson brush on the 29/04/2012 and still nothing been chasing them since July. At least they are still sending stuff out. Would say I've had a response to one in five emails. Contacted them two weeks ago said they would ship this week (week just gone) and still nothing. Did your brushes go to dispatched on the website or an email notification or did they just turn up? To be honest I'm quite frustrated with the whole saga and I don't really want the brush anymore. The novelty has gone. Ahwell I will keep chasing and hoping. They look very nice brushes but customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Based on my experience, my advice is to order from them through Etsy and pay using PayPal. You'll at least have an avenue to raise a case when the inevitable delay happens.

If you're not ready for the inevitable delay, don't order a brush from them, since the delay, is, well, inevitable.

My Kimson arrived two days ago (15 day delivery - not bad). In addition to being gorgeous, it's a terrific brush. Extremely soft tips and a nice, dense knot; it reminds me a lot of a Thater (okay, maybe not quite as soft, but very close). It's a great cream/croap brush. A similar Thater (or Simpson or Rooney) will cost at least $40 more ($110 vs $150) , but it'll have a plain black or ivory handle.

I agree with vegasvics. I'm afraid that the only way to make some pressure to Mr. Kimson in order to speed the shipping of your brush is to threat him with paypal complaint for a full refund of your money... Some friends had similar problems and when they used that "trick" Mr Kimson speed up his response and shipping "magically"...

Sorry for your issues and good luck!

Reading this thread really has me p*ssed off. I'm in the 'problem' boat. Ordered a brush January 30. Sent two query emails - one in March, another in July. Was told both times that more time was needed because horn is a natural product and supply fluctuates...

October 2, still no brush. So I sent and angry email. This generates a response from Mr. Vu Kimson pleading for just a little more month. Foolishly, I agree to wait one more month...

November 4 (today) still no brush - and now come across this thread and see that he has fulled at least 4 other orders within 4 weeks time - orders that were placed a full 6 MONTHS after mine...

Worst part is, I was a loyal repeat customer. Ordered a brush 2 years ago, received it in 3 weeks, and absolutely feel in love with the incredible softness and just-right medium density of the knot, not to mention the beauty of the horn handle. Loved it so much I ordered 2 more a year later, one for my brother and one for my father. Took 1 follow-up query and 10 weeks to get them. Should have seen the warning signs but didn't. Loved the brushes so much I ordered another for myself. Now here I am TEN MONTHS later with no brush and no refund.

Bottom line: IMHO the brushes are phenomenal. But the service is not. When you order from Kimson you are not making a purchase, you are making a gamble.

    Caveat emptor!

(To those of you in this thread who ordered and received brushes, I am honestly glad you got them w/o trouble and truly do hope you continue to enjoy them, they are great brushes. But shame on the manufacturer!)

Sorry to hear that... Sadly it seems that Kimson is more and more overworked and can't supply their brushes in time. Anyway, if he was a true gentleman, it will give an approximate shipping time and don't take the money until then. But not, he usually first take the money and you then must wait until he want...

Fortunately, today there are many alternatives if you want a truly georgeous horn handle:

    - USA QED.
    - Australian seller horn brushes: http://www.ebay.es/sch/bestdollardis...id=p4340.l2562
    - Chinese-Li Jun horn brushes: http://www.ebay.es/itm/LS-2012-Luxur...ht_1526wt_1163

These chinese ones are very cheap and the handle are very similar to the others, but note that hair are less dense and has a smaller knot.

So my recommendation is to claim a full refund and get some of them. And put a negavite vote if you can.

    Cheers!

My first Kimson was shipped two weeks after I placed my order. It is now over two months on my second brush and I have received no news on this one. I am willing to cut them some slack because it's not one of their mainstream handle designs. I can't imagine waiting almost a year for a brush (even though they are great brushes).

Thanks for the info Sir Eider, the horn handles are gorgeous but it was actually the Kimson knot I was after. They are one of the softest knots (with a nice amount of backbone) I have ever come across and I was hoping to use the second Kimson as a back-up/travel brush...

I am in the process now of trying to claim a refund (if I do not hear back from Vu KimSon by next week I will be opening a claim with PayPal) and will most likely get a 30mm Whipped Dog or a Vulfix 41 instead (haven't decided which yet).

Vocalistbob, I truly hope you get your brush soon and that your experience doesn't echo mine. They are indeed great brushes and it is regrettable that the situation has reached the point where many people who order them are left feeling disappointed and mistreated rather than getting to experience wonderful luxuriousness of the brushes themselves.
