I rinse the razor under warm running water after each shave. After 4 or 5 shaves, I take out the blade and rinse again and polish the razor dry with a soft towel. I found that is all the razor needs.

I rinse with cold water, and shake it dry a few times. My unscientific testing seems to show that a cold water rinse seems to remove more scum than a hot water rinse; or at least, no less scum than a hot water rinse. I give it a good wipe down and polish with a towel when I change the blade.

Rinse blade and razor under hot water after every shave.

Have a solution of Barbicide in jar. a few minutes in it and the razor is close to soap free. And i have a small nylonbrush for the cleaning between the teeth of my comb razor if theres anything left.

Rubbing alcohol and a hair-dryer?? That's a new one on me. A toothbrush and warm water when I'm changing the blade does it for me.

Rinse in warm water after each shave, open the TTO slightly to air dry. When I finish a blade (4-5 shaves) I take the blade out, soak the razor in some soapy water and give it a quick scrub with a toothbrush. Air dry, then back in the drawer until next at-bat.

After every shave I drop my razor into a skillet filled with a special mixture of Dr. Pepper, Sriracha, and bleach, bring to a high boil

Kidding, rinse and wipe after shaving, a more thorough wiping when changing a blade

Newly acquired used razor: First a soak in hot water with dettol. If there is any scum, toothbrush and toothpaste. After that dish soap.

Maintenance: Only water and dish soap, makes everything shine like new.

Hot water rinse and shake it dry after every shave. Every 4 or 5 shaves I'll break out the Scrubbing Bubbles.

I have the same experience. Since I have been shaving with cold water, I also rinse my razors with cold water after the shave and they do appear to stay cleaner this way. They only see hot water when I clean them periodically with dish soap.

    Rinse, shake, done.

When changing blades I'll wipe it down with a towel, but that's it.

We have a water softener so scaling is not a problem.
