Here are mine. The two-band was a group buy at SRP in 2011. This is one of the best two-band, if not the best, there is. It is very soft. The 4125 is an extremely soft silvertip three band, but has a nice backbone, and works well with hard soas. I also have the /00 as my travel brush. Sweet. In my opinion Thaeter and Shavemac are the best brushes there are!

Got my first Thater today, a 49125/0. First use will be tomorrow. Here it is pictured next to a Rooney 3/1 and Simpson Berkeley for size comparison. The warranty and instructions were interesting. Treating with Borax or using water hotter than 40C/104F voids the warranty.

No worries since I never had a problem with any of the 20 brushes I've had and don't expect to have any with the Thater. I just found it interesting that Thater specifically singled out Borax as a no-no, when Borax is sometimes suggested on wetshaving sites for cleaning brushes.

The way my Thater 4192 feels is wonderful. I just wish they would make a knot that is shaped somewhere between their bulb and fan shapes, sort of like the Simpson Chubby or Classic. I can only imagine what a good, over-stuffed Chubby style brush would feel like from Thater!

Their 2-Band bulbs have a more hybrid shape.

Your two band looks pretty nice, fo' sure. I was looking at the Thater fans at StraightRazorDesigns, which is near my house. That's also where I bought most of my Simpsons. Based on my likes, Don, the owner, told me he thought I would NOT like the Thater fans because of how much they open up when they bloom. With their extensive line, particularly the lines they sell in Europe, you'd think that they'd add a knot shaped like Simpson, for competition's sake if nothing else.

I'm ashamed to say I only have one Thater, as it's the favorite brush in my rotation. This brush with some cream and a mild blade is just what the Dr. ordered on a hot summer day.
