This is my post shave-seems to work well.

    • Cold water rinse
    • *Alum block OSMA (optional-I'm still trying to determine if this is causing me to break out in one spot on jawline-seems to lessen if I skip it)
    • *Cold water rinse (optional-only if using alum)
    • Dry face with towel
    • Thayers Witch Hazel - let dry for a minute
    • Finish with After Shave Balm or Splash (more balms in winter and splashes in summer with exceptions)

Alum's the only one on the list that I use and that's only with razor burn which is rare for me.

What I (or any other person) prefer doesn't matter. Try the options and see what works best for you.

I received my Thayers WH in the mail today. Going to give it a try tomorrow night.

Reading all the posts here....seems I have been missing the warm rinse once finished shaving. I've been rinsing in cold and using Proraso Pre/Post.

Excited to see how the WH goes.

    Thanks guys.

I have some questions for You guys that use witch hazel than some after shave.
Do you let the witch hazel dry before the AS? Or you rinse it with water (cold or warm)?
And how do you apply the hazel? Hand, cotton pad?

Witch hazel. Let it dry. Then some light moisturizer.

My post shave ritual is rinse, alum block, rinse, then application of one of the Pinaud aftershaves.

In non-winter climate setup is to mix my AS splash with witch hazel 50/50 and apply it to my face. The best of both worlds IMO
I could probably load Tabac on a Q-tip and still get a decent lather

I just use Witch Hazel after the shave and nothing else. I've found that keeping it simple and using fewer products works best for me.

    None of the above.

After rinsing, I use Lab Series Razor Burn Relief Ultra followed by KMF Face Factor with SPF 30. Both of these products are unscented, have great things your face needs (soothing agents, sun protection, antioxidants, cell-communicating ingredients, and cell-identical ingredients), and provide a good array of moisturizing ingredients for a terrific post-shave feel.
