    Definitely a lot of YMMV.
Yeah, Jim apparently spent some time talking to Naomi-san about the linen component he uses as a result of that conversation on coticule.be. It turned out that Naomi-san had changed which linen he used a few years ago as a result of sourcing problems. He managed to find something softer, which Bart was able to test, but I don't know if Naomi-san ever switched to that. There was the problem that the sample that Bart got was narrower.

    Wow.
    WOW!

    WOW!!!!!

I went ahead and reattached the linen (canvas?) element and went to town on the Revisor.
I picked this razor up on BST about a month ago and have used it exclusively since receiving it.
It wasn't a bad shaver when it arrived, but it needed "my touch" so I ran it through my full progression about 2 weeks ago.

Lately, it's been showing it's "wear"... still a good shaver, but I was having to be careful with ATG in some areas.
Normal stropping was 20-30 laps on the linen component of my Illinois 127 loaded with CrOX, and 40-50 laps on the leather.

Last night, with no touchup on the hones, I just ran it on the Kanayama linen for 25 laps, then went 50 on the leather.

It was better than it was straight off the hones and the 127! Effortless and irritation free ATG everywhere, including under the nose, and no weepers, even in the areas under my chin where I expect to see one or two red spots.

Now I'm really looking forward to receiving the #3 and getting onto the suede component!

Now try 60 linen/60 leather and see if you notice anything.

    And Kanayama #2 has arrived.
Actually it's a #3, but it's my 2nd one (in as many weeks).

Beautiful. Definite difference in the thickness of the leather, SWMBO is impressed with the suede.
The $100 price tag didn't bother her.
She doesn't know that I paid over $160 for the 2196

What she doesn't know won't hurt "you". Nice pair of strops there ;)

    I can't wait for Sunday.
I'm going to break tradition and do a morning shower/shave tomorrow.
