Default Inks that work well with "normal" paper?

    Hello!

I am planning to order a bunch of ink samplers and a 1.1 italic nib from Goulet very soon so I'd just like to know what inks work well with normal office paper and similar.
I heard from the guy in the store where I bought my LAMY Al-Star that the Noodlers bulletproof inks aren't that well suited for normal papers as it feathers a lot and such and I don't want an ink that feathers a lot or bleeds through!

    Thanks for your patience!

Lamy Blue works well on cheap photocopy paper.

I've yet to find an ink that is better behaved than Noodler's Bulletproof black. Thin paper, shiney paper, porous paper, BP Black is the perfect multipurpose ink for me. And while the other heavy-duty Noodler's inks seem to wash out with some difficulty, BP Black has never been problematic for me.

For Noodlers, I agree with Vlad, Bulletproof Black looks good on anything. Bad Belted Kingfisher does good in my journal which is pretty much normal paper. Diamine's don't feather or bleed on a Staples eco-paper notebook I have. Good luck, Unkas!

The 1.1 nib is going to lay down more ink than your regular nib too, so that will play into it as well. The paper will basically suck the ink out of your nib. Noodler's also has an X Feather ink but I have never tried it.

Iron Gall inks work well on just about any quality of paper. Sure, it is a little extra maintenance but as daily writer inks they are hard to beat.

I'll have to give that one a try.
