I didn't know about this deal and I've had my eye on a SOC in cherry for some time. Placed my order tonight so thanks!

Not yet. I expect it sometime this week, though.

I think they tried to deliver mine yesterday, but apparently it was too much work for my mailperson to drag their carcass out of their truck to my door. They want me to drive in to town to sign for it. Forget that.

After 36 phone calls the mail carrier found it in their heart to deliver the brush. Any of you experts want to chime in on if it needs to be washed first? I plan on test lathering it daily until it softens up.

Some people say it's good to go out of the box. The SOC has much softer tips than cheaper boars. Less animal stench, too. I always wash, lather, and let it sit for a day (and then repeat) before using any brush.

I ordered my first Semogue, (1800) from VS about a month ago and I love it. I used it right out of the box and it is blloming and tips are softening. It is definitely my best brush. I see a cherry SOC in my future!

That's what arrived yesterday. I had Ash, but had to have Cherry. Gave it a quick test lather and let it sit overnight. Used it this morning...just as nice as the other one (which is quite broken in, mind you).

Thanks guys. I'll test lather it now and use it in the am. No real stink that I can discern.
