    Default First Gold Dollar Regrind

With all the threads on the gold dollar razors I decided to pick a few up and see if I couldn't destroy one. this is my first attempt it still needs some sanding and such but I like it.

as you can see nothing to fancy just testing the waters and my dremel skills

Looks very nice. Lots of dremel masters on these boards.

Looks great! I'm still wndering what all the fuss is over these Gold Dollar razors? Are they just inexpensive, easily available and popular to modify?

Haha, it is an honest question! I don't know a whole lot about straights, I just like fixing and modifying them. I guess I should find one?! A local antique store has trays full of old, broken worn out straights for a few dollars each. The case I just did and the dixie both came from there, also a vintage 1920's boker purchased at the same time. I think I paid $13 for all three.

Anyone have a gold dollar they want to donate for my edumacation?!

You can get them for around as low as 6.00 a pop.

You got some reading to do: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...-Competition-3

They're fantastic shavers when done right. I have two that I'm quite proud to keep in my rotation, and I have a couple out in the wild that I did for other members.
