    Default Beard Grooming

    Hi gents,

I know it's been forever since I posted, and the reason is that I have grown a full beard. I tried shaving the neckline and below my eyes with my safety razor, but with all the cream or soap it's difficult to see. Alas, I have been having to resort to my automatic / machined razor, which I hate.

On to the topic! I have a beard trimmer, that is really more of a stubble trimmer, as when it's on its longest setting, my beard is at the very shortest I would consider. So, I need some recommendations for a good beard trimmer that can handle lengths that are long - like three inches +.

Also, does anybody have any recommendations for a good beard and mustache wax, that will help keep my facial hair in place? My beard is dark, dense, and grows fast and in all directions, so it would be good to have some wax to comb through it. Mustache wax would be for training the hair to not grow in my mouth.

As always, you guys are the best, and I am sorry I am missing out on the shaving fun!! Chicks dig the beard though.
As I told you, it would be absolutely, totally, and in all other ways inconceivable.

Hey. Recent discussions that may interest you are to be found

I'm considering growing my beard out this winter so I'll probably be trying some of the different oils in the hopes of keeping my whiskers soft and healthy. I'll keep you posted with the various products I use if I go for it. I'll probably keep it minimal but the jenulence stuff and some of the products at Royalshave look pretty good.

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions about the beard trimming. You may have to trim it with scissors at that length.

I have a beard, but I keep it short now with a Norelco beard trimmer for length and an electric trimmer or scissors for trimming the bottom of my mustache. I use my DE razor to shave my neck and cheeks and have no trouble seeing what I'm doing or keeping the top and bottom edges straight. (I don't lather my entire face, just my neck and cheeks.)

When my beard was longer, I used a comb and scissors to trim the length, but I still shaved my neck and cheeks.

I have never used wax or oil, but I find a good hair brush works wonders, and I still use it regularly even though my beard is now short. It feels good, and it will help with longer beards.

For keeping a beard at that lenght you will have to use a comb and shears. I don't think a guard can compensate for that length. As far as your beard line goes, you can get a T trimmer or edger, Andis and Wahl both make them and I'm pretty sure Andis sells a decent T Edger for around $20. Th T Edger can edge your beard line well and for an even sharper line, you can go over it with a straight razor after you edge. For your neck you can always use a safety razor. As far as beard wax goes, I would give the Pinaud Clubman brand a try. It is cheap and they are a reputable company that has been around forever.
