Default Razor ID help, no markings! with PICS.

I posted earlier today about the razor I saw yesterday and asking for help ID'ing it. Well now I have pictures, I went and bought it. had to. It doesnt have any markings on it at all. some pretty significant plate loss and tarnish/rust, but i mean, it was 6 dollars. I figured why not, I plan to do some resto on it and see what happens. There just crappy cell pics, but they should do the trick.

I compared the head to the pic of all the gillette heads on the BOTOC thread and it didnt match any of them..so I'm a little lost.

Something inside tells me this is missing a part at the top, might be wrong.

It's a "Crappy Mystery Razor." I was PIF'd one. The head is super thin but the handle is actually pretty nice. The shave was surprisingly good. You'll have to press the blade down onto the little nubs that stick up from the base plate.

After reading that thread, I'm actually kinda pumped to shave with it. Both of you guys gave it rave reviews. maybe it should be renamed Crappy looking mystery razor? I will clean it up tonight and shave with it in the morning. thanks for the info.

I got one exactly like that in a lot that I bought off of Ebay. The handle reminds me of a bar tech, but the head feels so flimsy I have never shaved with it. I acutally gave it to my 7 year old son, and he uses it as his "practice" razor.

There is a plastic handle version with that head just like that. It is described in Waits Compendium Section C page 4 as follows:

    Name - Century
Mfg - Otto Krause (Germany?) Gillette type, pressed sheet-metal cap and comb guard, black (plastic?) handle. Made especially for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair.

    This may be a variant.

I just saw this posted. It is a BIN,http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OLD-...rkparms=aid%3D This looks like the CMR, there is a name on the boxes in the picture. JWA?

edit: the handle is different from the one in this post but looks like the one from the Crappy Mystery razor posting.
