Hey, no worries, John. Makes it even more amazing (I'm sitting here looking at it and opening and closing the lid over and over). I knew there had to be more to it, but I didn't get to see it in production. The man's got a level of skill I can't even comprehend. I am humbled that he took the time and effort to make this piece especially for me - even my wife (who normally gives anything remotely associated with shaving a simple roll of the eyes) thinks it's beautiful, and has actually suggested I try to figure out a way to display it more prominently.

Yeah, he has redonkulous skillz! He hand-cuts his own finger and dovetail joints, too, no power tool jig nonsense for Paul!

Paul, I am not pumping sunshine up your skirt here, I'm dead serious ... you should consider doing an article on making one of those for Taunton's Fine Woodworking.

Your photography is fine, but since they'd want photos of you actually doing the work, I volunteer to be your photographer (one hobby I am very good at, unlike woodworking).

I think you should consider it. That work is the kind of thing they like in that high-end magazine. Give it some thought.
