    Default Shaving Before Bed

    Hi All,

I am a relative newbie to wet shaving and have really enjoyed learning about it on this forum! I am looking to get some advice on shaving before bed? Is it good or bad? Any opinions?

    Thanks!

    That's what I do.

    But....

I have a light beard. If I shave in the morning, I can get away with shaving (face and head) every other day.
Shaving before bed, I can go that 2nd day, but it's not really a "socially acceptable" shave, but it is fine for my current job.

I like to shave at night depending on my schedule. It's a nice relaxing ritual before heading to bed, plus I smell good for the wife.

I too shave before bed. As with cb91710, my beard is pretty light and I can get away with it. I'm not much of a morning person so shaving in the evening/night just feels right.

    Good luck.

I'm a before bed shaver. I started this way because it gives me as much time as I need to get the shave right and at the moment I'm not particularly worried about how things look because I've always been unable to shave daily anyway.

Experiment and see whether night shaving or morning shaving (or even midday shaving) works for you. What I've discovered here is YMMV.

I always shave at the evening/before bed. This because I have a hard time get up in the morning, so the minutes work against me, not with me. = I can get a more comfortable and longer shave if I do it in the evening. Also my beards is growing so slow that it isnt visible until late afternoon, the next day.

I have a light colour to my beard and shave at night almost all the time. It saves me time in the morning as well.

Another evening shaver here. I tend to shave a hour or so before heading off for the night. I'm more relaxed at the end of the day and I don't have to rush when I have my shave and worry about getting out for work.

Since going DE I've noticed that I'm getting less stubble during the day so I still look ok when I get to work in the morning.

Shaving at night gives you time to enjoy the experience. That and the fact it helps my social agenda make it a winner!

I shave at night, so I dont get disturbed and it gives your skin time to rest over night.

    Full-head shave in the morning:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Off on the weekends, unless I have to get real sexy for something.

I start my day with a shower because I am just to damn tired at the end of the work day.

Kinda wiered this one for me. For the past four years morning shower shaveand work 1100 to 2100hrs on a rotating shift pattern. Prior to this I worked what are called 'continental shifts' here in the UK. these are 0600-1400, 1400-2200 and 2200-0600. So the shave was kinda before bed and kinda first thing in the morning. Never did me any harm though apart from when I rushed and used carts, loads of ingrowns for me.

Typically I shave after work early evening. It helps me release the stress, and I feel fresh and smell nice during the evening.

I work night shift, so evening shaving is my normal routine. I find that I can take as much time as I wish to get the perfect shave every time without having to rush to get to work after oversleeping (like I had to do when I worked day shift). Of course nobody gets to see my perfect shave, but I feel great all night.

I pretty much have to shave in the AM. Have the Fred Flinstone shadow (see Homer Simpson for you younger ones) pretty much right away and by noon, I'm scruffy once again.

Even though I can take more time in the evening, I rather start the day with a refreshing shave in the morning after showering.

Whenever I shaved in the evening, the morning shower dries out my face.
Joris (not the razor). If you consider it as a hobby, you shave for free.
