I love my 3/1 in "super" silver tip and faux horn handle, but it takes a back seat to my Thater 4125/1 2-band silver tip I'm afraid.

My 1/2 diesn't see much use. It splays a little too much for my taste.

There's still love for Rooney, Thater's just the flavor of the month right now. I'm digging the Heritage Stubby 2XL I got.
I was looking at the 1/2 in super before but opted for a Morris & Forndran 1/2 to get the blonde 2-band instead. Still might pick one up in super at some point.
I'm a huge Rooney fan. Here my three.

After going unused for a year and almost being sold, my 3/1 Super has again become my #1 brush. I find that I actually prefer the moppiness of my older 3/1 to the backbone of the newer 1/1. But both brushes are great with creams and hard soaps. A Thater arrives Friday, but I'm sure the Rooneys and Simpsons will still see plenty of use.

The XL line is superb. I have two finest, and I think the XL brushes are a bit better. Of course this is in my humble opinion

Still around! Recently picked up an Emillion 2 to complement my 1/3 super.
I agree that Rooneys are just as outstanding as ever, but there happens to be a new flavor of the day that gets all the buzz. That's okay, everything goes in cycles. I still love my 3/1 Super; it's the only one I use and I have no desire for another at this time.
A gent B&B member will bring me a Rooney Heritage 2XL 2-Band in September - delivered right to me in Copenhagen in Denmark
If Rooney wasn't so difficult to buy in Europe, I would own several by now - at least 2 to be honest......
Rooney brushes - Made in England, only sold in the US, where they also are being made these days (the Made in England is a load of crop these days to be honest IMHO)
My XXL is a beast, and if I could find a 3/2 or 3/3 Finest with a nice shape that would be my workhorse.

Rooney's get a lot of love around here, my 3/1 is still at the top of my list of favorite brushes.

I don't think my Thater 4125/3 2-band will be getting much use now that I have a Rooney 3XL. They are very close in actual knot size (both are 30mm, even though the Thater is nominally 28mm) and overall size (the Thater has higher loft) but the Thater (like my previous 4125/2) is a major soap hog - and I get very impatient when I have to spend a full minute or more loading soap. Also, the Rooney bloomed beautifully while the Thater has stayed closer to its original bulb shape. Thater brushes have a reputation for extremely soft bristles, which is true in their 3-bands, but the 2-band isn't any softer than the Rooney. They are both excellent brushes, but the Rooney is king of the hill in my opinion. The Thater will probably end up on the B/S/T board.
Still going strong... I got 5 and they are all used regularly:

The Rooney 1/2 SST was my first "good brush" and is still a favorite

My two Rooney's still see a lot of work-out. The XL a bit more than the 1/1. The only Rooney brush I did not like at all (and it is sold now for quite some time) was the revered Finest. It had a horrible scritchy feel on the face, like a wire brush - when dry, it was very soft, but as soon it got wet it became a Gremlin monster brush. Some may like this feel, but for me the Finest was the biggest disappointment when it comes to brushes.

I use my Rooney Beehive 1 every third day and I adore it.
