Default Scored a rifle scabbard for a saddle

Was at a yard sale yesterday and spotted this

As I'm looking at it the guy having the sale says "if you're interested...75 cents"
I musta gave him an odd look because he then says " Hey I'm open to offers"

It is an old hand tooled, hand stitched, saddle rifle scabbard...it needs some stitching repairs and some leather conditioning, other than that its in nice condition. I think it is missing a strap too.

    Sheep skin lined

    Crazy thick leather

He had no idea who Gene was..he couldnt even remember where he got it from

Heavy duty harness rivets and nickel plated buckles

He threw in this old offset saw and we called it a deal at $1

Actually he threw in this old Sunbeam coffee percolator for free, thought I was crazy for wanting it...works perfect, made my morning coffee with it today..

Gotta love old folks and yard sales

Maybe you found the score of the century and found Gene Autry's scabbard! Seriously though, very nice score.

That's a neat ol' scabbard for sure. Seems like you came out like a bandit - your commentary made me chuckle :)

Nice score! All you need now is a horse and Winchester 30/30. Oh, and some toenail clippers!

    I can imagine the conversation:

"Honey, come here, I have to show you this new 30/30 I bought. Mind where you step, Trigger is not quite housebroken yet.........I had to buy the horse and rifle, check out this scabbard!"

Congrats - wow! I have good luck with using Lexol to condition leather with. I'm a percolator man too although mine is a stovetop, no plug. You should have bought a lottery ticket that day, luck was with you to be sure.
