Hey guys, Jeremy here. I'm 25 and one of my older buddies shaved his beard after 20+ years and got very interested in DE razors, so I did some research and saw how much more economical it is and how much better the quality of the shave was. So I decided to order some things from amazon after researching some beginner friendly items. While I was waiting for the items to arrive I probaly over-researched techniques and opinions of others on this site. The research payed off, I received the items yesterday and had a very nice experience, with the help of post on this site I made a lather that I believed was pretty decent and completed my shave with only a minor burn in one area. I was really impressed with the sensation I got from the Proraso soap I used, it was very cooling, I got a Lord 3 piece razor and used the blade that came with it, I also got Asco blades, Shark Blades, and Big Ben Blades to try. I also got the Club Man Vegetal and Lilac after shave, at first the smell was a bit overwhelming but after a few minutes it wore off a bit and was very pleasant. At first I was very nervous and took my time, and on the first pass with the grain I felt that I was pulling on the hair a bit, is that an angle issue or just how it feels when the hair is a bit long (3 days with out shaving)? Anyways thanks for having such a great and informative site, I look forward to improving over time with technique and info posted here and also look forward to becoming part of this community.

Welcome to B&B! Yes, check the angle, but you may feel differently after shaving with just one day's growth.
