Default Vacation or Stay-cation? What did you do in 2012?

What did you guys and gals do this year for vacation?
    Did you go somewhere?
Did you stay at home for a stay-cation?

P.S. the poll wasn't supposed to expire. I must have clicked on something.
I can't fix it, so that's the way she goes.

Vacation most of the time this year. Went to New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Port Sulphur, LA. each time. Got a week off coming up where we planned to go to New Orleans and Baton Rouge again, but the wife's got pleurisy and we may not get to go since the relatives we visit in Baton Rouge smoke.

I try to do one 'big' vacation every year.
During the year, several 'mini' vacations i.e. weekend trips to NY, DC etc.

Not sure yet. I have been IT contracting for the past 7 years and Jan.1st marked the first time I was between contracts (consider myself fortunate in that regard), so from Jan-Jun, I stayed home and dealt with 2 bouts of kidney stones attacks (whee!), buying a new house, selling our old house, moving everything in a million mini-van trips, and then finally finding a full-time position that offered some job satisfaction rather than just punching a clock.
SWMBO and I normally like to head to Cuba or Punta Cana for a week between November-February and havn't planned where we're going this year. Maybe Belize?

My employer gives me 4 weeks paid vacation time plus 12 paid holidays a year - not to shabby, eh? With no real set work schedule, I will generally extend the holidays with vacation & do just that - VACATE! We do a lot of camping. We also have a timeshare that we can use almost anywhere in the world, so we try to find some place centrally where we can vacation for a week or two with our kids, now living in Wyoming.

I have a few more years before retirement, but I practice every chance I get!

I try to get to Europe once a year; this year it didn't happen. Next year, if all works out, I'm traveling pretty extensively for work. One of the locals will be Australia. After my work is done I'll probably stay an additional two weeks or so.

We are taking the kids to Disney World in a month. I work for IBM and they just laid off a lot of people at my client site in order to outsource a lot of jobs to India. I figured we better go now while we can afford it in case I don't have a job next summer.

Most of my vacation days have been spent so far going to weddings. I'm 30 and at the age all my friends are getting married.

I usually take a ski trip in the winter though.

We went to the TX Coast for 3 days and to my folks in Ark for 4 days. The rest of the summer our daughter had been in cheer, church and sports camps.

I would like to have hung around with Art because Art is King! Unfortunately no vacation this year (so far). I moved from one house to another. A rather protracted affair. Had to use my vacation to cart household goods around, do maintenance and other assorted and sundry moving tasks. As a former Air Force brat I hate moving! I would have rather spent the week at the dentist or recovering from surgery. At least with those options you get good drugs.
