    Default Greetings from the UK

Hello Badger and Blade! I am from Cleethorpes in the UK, I have been browsing the site for a while now and thought why not join up?

I have been wet shaving for about a year and a half now and enjoying every minute of it. I am only using basic equipment in that I shave with a parker barbers straight (the stainless one with the pattern on the scales). It's not very good but that's where a lack of money gets you Looking forward to trying some new fragrances/creams as recommended by you guys and eventually I want to invest in a real straight, strop and so on!

    Welcome to Badger and Blade.

What creams/fragrances do you like/have at the moment?

I am a big fan of Musgo Real, you can maybe check that one out. Truefitt & Hills Sandalwood has also a very masculine scent to it. It reminds me of the cologne; aqua di giorgio armani. Another one, thats high on my list is l'occitane CADE shaving cream. If you read the reviews here on B&B its not rated as a good performer compared to other creams, but if you add a bit more product and have soft water it is, in my experience, a great cream with a shy, but nice scent.

My go to cream is Vulfix Sicilian Lime, although I started like many others on Proraso soap. I have recently just got the new Proraso Sandalwood and Shea Butter but I am having some trouble lathering it. I'm sure I will get there though. I will check out the Trueffit one as I am enjoying the scent of the Proraso Sandalwood. I will check out that thread, thankyou :)

Welcome aboard the B & B (besides being enrolled in the fictional, sacred and utopian Order of Shavedom). Please feel free to come up to the promenade / sun deck & 'sit-a-spell'.

Sounds like you're off to a great start, and yes, this Forum has the knowledge, ideas, and all around 'know-how' to assist in your Wet-Shaving experience. In a nut-shell...your 'gonna' love it here.

    Q. What other brands (i.e., soaps, brushes, blades ect...), are you working with?

In my opinon, it's wise and sage advice to get a Razor Blade Sampler (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...pack?highlight), so that you'll see what blade would be a good fit (mild, moderate & aggressive, ect...), for your face and razor.

Although, you may not be additted yet (I think I'm holding up fairly well...with a few exceptions), because we all suffer (gladly and are doomed perhaps), from this shaving complusion (and other Acquisition Disorders), because at times..."Resistance is futile".

I am using just a basic badger brush that I found on Amazon, my main soap is a Vulfix one and the blades I use are Derbys. A blade sampler pack would be a very good idea actually as I started with Derbys and have stuck with them ever since then, maybe it is time to work out if any others are best for me?
