Thread: Farm Sale Find

    Default Farm Sale Find

I found a farm sale on the outskirts of town near where I live and scored pretty darned well. I picked up a fat boy, an adjustable slim, 5 superspeeds, a ball end, and a tech, (9 Razors), and a nice old beer mug for 10 bucks!
I've got a question about one of the superspeeds.
    I'ts a red tip marked E 1 (1959) in pretty nice shape.
There are a couple more marks I've never seen before. On the underside of the head on both sides of the handle it is marked with a +.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

    Nice haul.

The plus means it is slightly more aggressive than the standard Red Tip. Nice razor.

Some are marked with the "+" to indicate the aggressiveness of the razor.
It's not rare, but maybe not as common and doesn't affect the value

On the Blue Tip razors you will see a "o" to indicate mild.
There are no extra markings on the regular SS models.

At least that's what I remember learning in SuperSpeed 101 class.
    It's been a few years.

I saw a Tech and an Aristocrat in an antique store out here once. They wanted $40 for the tech, didn't ask about the Aristocrat. If it weren't for Ebay, I'd still be using carts.

    Very nice
Any date codes on the two straight tip SS on the left?
And be careful cleaning that old ball handle that looks like tarnished silver.

Can we get a better view of the mug? The image on it looks pretty cool, but hard to make out.

And, yeah, the ball end looks like it needs the baking soda/aluminum foil treatment.

Lucky dude, that's a once in a lifetime find right there.

I stopped in to an antique store on the way home yesterday and all they had was a stinking ball end Tech for $60 and a cased Fatboy for $115. That's the kind of crap finds I have where I live.
