A Gold Krone Solingen straight in good shape was brought to Rick to sell. The fellow wanted $300 for the razor and its ivory scales. Rick told him the scales were in fact plastic (widely used in the 1920's) made to resemble ivory and offered $50. The guy said OK. Rick said that plastics were really big in the 20's after people were looking for a new material to make billiard balls as ivory was so expensive.
