Is there anything else to this fragrance, or just straight up limes?
On my person, it last about 6 hours. Nevertheless, in hot weather, it seems to linger longer. This is a straight lime scent. No top note or middle note.

I dig Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza and Creed Original Vetiver when it's really hot.

Here in southern France I love 4711 but the scent lasts for about 15 seconds.
    YMMV

Another one to try our might be Eau de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermes. I tried it in the store and it seemed pretty nice.

I need to find a good mentholated frag!
May I suggest C&S Oxford & Cambridge or FM Geranium pour Monsieur? I own both and they are my go-to summer frags....

I'm enjoying Chanel Sycomore and Trumpers GFT this summer.

Sycomore gets compared to Encre Noire quite often but IMO it's not even close. Encre Noire is one of my top 3 favorites but even I can't stomach it's heavy earthy (heavenly) darkness in this SoCal heat. Sycomore has a much lighter presence without sacrificing any of the longevity or sillage that I enjoy with Encre in the Autumn and Winter months.

Trumpers GFT has an amazing herbal citrus scent that easily last 10+ hours on me as well.

I smelled Bvlgari Man this last weekend on paper and was impressed. Going to pick up a sample from Nordstroms this weekend to give it a few wearings and I have high hopes of finding a 3rd summer scent to add to the rotation.

I'll throw out a few more to some of the great suggestions already mentioned. I went through a little hunt for the same thing a year ago when I went to Jamaica.

Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts doesn't last very long, but smells like margheritas.

Aramis Havana stands as my favorite hot weather nighttime scent.

If I were to do a similar trip again, I'd only take a sample each of Original Vetiver, Havana, and Crown Spiced Limes. Days were spent at the pool bar and on the beach, so not much more than 2 or 3 choices were needed.

Is the shaving cream a good representation of the scent of the cologne?

In addition to Eau Sauvage, Live Jazz and Guerlain Eau de Cologne (all really terrific fragrances), I'll add Annick Goutal Eau du Sud.

That's why Eau Sauvage is much more popular in France.
I bought a bottle of Eau Sauvage in France last week, excellent warm weather scent!

The GFT shaving cream is a pretty good representation of the initial top notes of the cologne. The cologne dries down into something a little more complex and herbal but still manages to retain some amazing citrus for the entire duration.

In that case, I'd definitely tell the OP to add it to the list of summer fragrances to try.

(The GFT shaving cream performs very well, by the way.)

Creed VIW is a good call for the islands. I especially enjoy Creed Selection Verte during hot weather.

I thought VIW was a good call too, but after smelling the same thing in lotions at the beach all day, it never got touched.
